The 3 Forgotten Steps For Social Media success
The new technique for building a business that’s taking over the world is Social Media!
We have to get good at using this technique ourselves otherwise we are basically leaving money on the table. This doesn’t mean though that we stop doing other Network Marketing techniques or that the concept of network marketing changes at all. The concept of prospecting, inviting, building a network, following up are all the fundamental steps that have to stay, but techniques on how to do this over time is what changes.
The concept of finding people to talk to should ALWAYS be your number 1 priority in building your business, but why not spread yourself far and wide by using the amazing platforms out there like social media to help you expand your network faster and further than ever before.
The key is though…..do it correctly!!
My video here goes through 3 of the most crucial, but also sometimes the most forgotten steps in using social media to build your business…check it out!
1: Identify Your Passions:
Think of 3-5 things that excite you…give yourself some homework here!
Then ask yourself….what do people know me for? What is it that I am truly passionate about?
Once you can answer this for yourself, start posting about your interests and passions regularly. The more you post about your passions, hobbies and interest, the more you will attract those same types of people.
Even go into some groups that are based on the hobbies and passions you have and start connecting with some people in those groups. Think about that!! You will already have something in common to start the conversation about, so that is a nice simple, natural way to start connecting more over on your social media profiles and getting to know each other more on that personal level.
2: Friends First…..Business Second!
Build rapport and relationships first and foremost. No one is on social media to be sold to, but we all definitely love buying things.
The more you put the relationship/friendship first and build on that through connecting about hobbies, passions, interests, daily life, the more that “Trust Factor” comes into play.
If you’re using attraction marketing strategies as a soft approach to promote your product, service or business, that can then be a simple transition later on into them feeling comfortable enough to ask you about what it is you promote, if they have been curious about something you posted that caught their attention….its a win win.
*BIG TIP*
The new people you have connected with lately, turn your notifications on to “see first” for them so that you can always be seeing their posts and what they are up to on a daily basis and you can be engaging with them and building rapport consistently to help build that relationship. This will again help them learn to know, like and trust you, which makes it a much easier transition into business talk.
3: Manage Your Time On Social Media
Learn to be social on purpose and have a strategy in place for when and what time you spend connecting and prospecting on social media.
Time management is huge, so why not look at how many people it is you want to connect with DAILY. Be conscious of this and work out a plan that you can consistently stick to. If you can only manage talking to 5-10 people per day, because you’re a stay home mum like myself and honestly…..what stay home mum can manage more than that right!! Then pick what times you want to use in your day as times you prospect and connect with new people and STICK TO IT!
Something I’ve heard from Eric Worre before was that we should spend no more than 2 hours a day using social media to build our business. This doesn’t have to be 2 consecutive hours though. You could be like me and do it in 10-20 minute burst or even doing very little in the day, but more connecting and social media use in the evenings when kids are asleep (that works well for me too)
A lot of top industry leaders follow the PLAN, DO, REVIEW technique which can work really well if you have plans in place for your social media strategies.
PLAN out your weeks/months of how you want your social media use to flow like.
DO, means you put it into action consistently and daily as this will help you find a flow that works for you.
REVIEW what you’ve done over the last few weeks/month and see whats been working, what hasn’t been working, then of course, plan out again what to do moving forward with the techniques and strategies that were working for you and giving you results.

When using social media, we are using something called a “high tech’ strategy, but that doesn’t mean we should forget about having “high touch” value when connecting with people.
Building strong meaningful relationships that are long-lasting is such an important skill to learn online!
We can’t expect that if people are joining us quickly and easily, that they will be the ones who also stay long term….chances are…they won’t, because right from the start there was never any strong rapport, or trust factor built before transitioning them into business conversations!
I hope this was of value to you! If you feel it would be valuable information to other people you know who also use social media to build their network marketing business, why not share it around. Id appreciate that!
Keep creating Consistent, Authentic, Kick Ass results my friend!
